The issue is that this Chinese software and their support is terrible. You need to have the school purchase a reliable well supported laser cutter like the Glowforge. It's easy to use and supported. My laseraxe is folded away because of my Glowforge.
The real issue is that SUPPORT for Chinese IS a cultural thing. Generally, the Chinese do not take customer support seriously. If you contact them WITH A PROBLEM, they think support means "I'll get back to you in a week or month"; THERE IS NO IMMEDIACY. if you instead persist, like all Americans do, you will get no response whatsoever.
This is a rather complex cultural thing that will continue to keep Americans and Chinese at odds. All you need to do for example is look a the virus response.
So that is why I will never purchase a Chinese product that requires interaction with the Chinese for on-going support. This Laseraxe software that is in partial broken-English and Mandarin is the best reason to buy American from Americans like a GlowForge; WHEN support is going to be needed.
I BUY a lot of Chinese products thru Amazon and eBay that are fine. Only because no support is needed for them.
